Tony Brown stormed to the Didcot & District League’s Over 70s Tournament title with a perfect record.
Held in memory of former Abingdon player John Tremayne, who bequeathed money for the purchase of the trophies upon his death at the age of 92, the tournament attracted 12 entrants.
With competitors divided into two qualifying groups, Brown won all of his Group A matches.
He went on to book a place in the final with two straight victories over Group B runner-up Tom Saunders in the semi-final.
Group B winner Francis Soltane beat Tim Pett in two to claim his spot in the final.
But it was over 70s England international Brown who emerged victorious, beating Soltane by two straight games to lift the cup.
