ALICIA Robinson handled the step-up in class in style with a super third place in the Acklams Beta British ACU Trials Championship at the Seymour Arena, Aston Tirrold.

The 15-year-old from East Hagbourne, last year won the girls’ B class race in front of 400 spectators.

This year she moved up to the A class, competing against girls much older than herself.

In a brilliant ride, Robinson, who is sponsored by the Top Trials Team company, came a brilliant third.

The world’s top three ladies – all Britons – battled it out for the British Women’s Championship.

World No 1 Emma Bristow came out the winner, losing just ten marks.

She arrived at the course in the early hours of Sunday morning, having competed in the Czech Republic the previous day.

In second spot was Donna Fox who lost 22 marks, beating off Becky Cook, from the Isle of Wight, into third place

ELLIOT Harvey claimed the Trent Valley Kart Club Winter Championship title in dramatic style, with victory in the final round of the competition.

The 14-year-old, from Didcot, came into the contest in second place, seven points shy of leader Callum Bradshaw, who finished his first qualifying session in third place after being held up on his final lap.

Harvey and Bradshaw contested fiercely for the lead in the pre-final, with Oxfordshire UTC pupil Harvey being edged into second place, to start the final fourth on the grid.

A downpour just before the start of the final could not prevent Harvey from opening up a seven-second lead before finishing five second clear of second place.

Most importantly, however, with Bradshaw trailing ten places behind, Harvey’s victory was enough to clinch the championship title.

The next prize in Harvey’s sights is the national X30 Tour.
