TRAINER Noel Williams is set to move yards in Blewbury.

The 39-year-old, who has rented White Shoot Stables from neighbouring trainer Eve Johnson Houghton since May 2013, has signed a lease on Churn Stables.

Having seen his string outgrow his current base, the former assistant to Alan King will move his operation in May.

Owned by Beeswax Farming, who bought the state-of-the-art complex from Erik Penser, Churn Stables have been unoccupied for seven years.

Williams, who has made good progress this jumps season with eight winners from 62 runners, will take on one of the two barns, which will give him 38 boxes.

Gerard Butler trained at the yard from 1999-2008, enjoying great success highlighted by Compton Admiral winning the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown in his first year, before he moved to Newmarket.

Liam Roche arrived at the stables in November 2008, but quit the following spring after the British Horseracing Authority refused to grant him a licence.

Meanwhile, Kingston Lisle trainer Barry Brennan equalled his best tally of nine winners in a season when Vicky’s Charm scored at Chepstow on Saturday.

The seven-year-old mare was driven out by James Banks to land a mares’ handicap hurdle over an extended two miles and three furlongs by two and a quarter lengths from Kentford Myth.
