FELIPE Massa, who endured problems in practice, finished sixth in the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai on Sunday.

The driver from the Grove-based Williams F1 team had his practice curtailed by tyre problems.

The opening practice session had been overshadowed by three tyre blow-outs.

Massa encountered two issues with the left-rear wheel of his Williams.

He later qualified only 11th on the grid

But in the race itself, he stayed out of trouble to move up to sixth and come just over a minute behind Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg, who recorded his third successive win.

Massa’s teammate Valtteri Bottas, qualified in fifth place but had to settle for tenth – just inside the points.

After three races, Williams stand fourth in the constructors championship.

In the drivers’ standings, Massa is sixth with 22 points, and Bottas tenth with seven.
