Teammates Chris Sims and Ben Titchener didcot swimmers
TEAMMATES Chris Sims and Ben Titchener performed superbly in the first weekend of the South East England Regional Championships in Crawley.
The 13-year-olds, from the Didcot Barramundi club, both made it to the finals in their events.
Titchener, at his regional debut, qualified for the finals for the 100m freestyle where he finished fourth in a time of 1min 01.16secs, setting a club record.
His 200m freestyle time of 2.17.28 made him first reserve for the final.
Sims achieved bronze medals in the 200m and 100m breaststroke events, with times of 2.42.48 and 1.14.49 respectively, ranking him in the British top ten.
Both boys will compete again at the final weekend of the championships on May 28-29.
