OLIVER Fletcher helped Britain to a second-placed finish in the Children’s Nations Cup in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
Taking the role of anchor, Fletcher rode nine-year-old bay gelding Temple Rebus, performing brilliantly across the 1.30m course in the first round.
The 13-year-old, from Woolstone, then went on to produce another clear in the second round.
With three of the four riders posting clears across both rounds to finish on a zero penalty score, the British team were forced into a jump-off against hosts Belgium to decide the top two places.
Fletcher again posted a clear run in the third round to ensure a zero penalty score for his side.
But the hosts won it with a superior time difference of less than a second.
