SOUTH Moreton’s Darius Skop says he is ready to show a more aggressive side to his boxing when he takes to the ring on Saturday.

The 30-year-old Pole, who lives in Didcot, will become one of the first boxers in the country to compete in the new Queensbury League when he takes on Jody Meikle at the Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex.

Cruiserweight Skop tasted defeat for the first time in his last fight in March, but is ready to bounce back.

He saidL “Last time out things didn’t go to plan, but I’ve been in the gym changing things around and on the 18th you’ll see me at my best.

“I’ve got big plans in boxing and I don’t just want to be seen as a local hero, so if I want to progress I’ve got to be able to beat boxers like Meikle and I'm planning to stop him."
