BOWLS England president Michael Jennings, a former member of Didcot and Hagbourne clubs, brought his side to Oxfordshire last week.
Jennings, who now lives in Cornwall, saw his Bowls England team suffer mixed fortunes against his former clubs.
They narrowly defeated Didcot, but went down to a 20-shot defeat at Hagbourne.
They also played a friendly match with Wantage.
This is the first of several visits by Bowls England to the area during this season.
On Sunday July 31, a match involving local clubs will take place at Didcot to raise funds for Disability Bowls, which is Jennings’s chosen charity.
He will also bring a Friends of Bowls England team to play at Hagbourne on September 13.
