MOTORSPORT: Williams slipped to fifth place in the Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship after a frustrating Belgian Grand Prix.
Valtteri Bottas was eighth and teammate Felipe Massa tenth at Spa-Francorchamps, but the Grove outfit were overtaken by Force India, whose drivers both finished in the top five.
Williams were left to rue a mistake early in the race after Lotus driver Kevin Magnussen’s high-speed crash.
Confusion over whether the race would be temporarily stopped to repair the barriers led to a delay in bringing Bottas, who was running strongly, into the pits.
He said: “When the safety car came in we should have pitted immediately. We then lost many positions.”
The team head straight to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.
