WANTAGE’S Vale Taekwon-Do School finished third out of 60 clubs who entered the UK Championships in Guildford with 24 medals.

Instructor Carl Davis won gold in adult male 4th degree patterns, but lost in the first round of under 71kg sparring, his first loss at a national in this class for six years.

In the under 14 category, Aisha Macey won gold in green belt sparring and bronze in patterns, while Brendan England took gold in yellow belt patterns and Kuba Pienkos gold in blue belt sparring.

Silver and bronzes were won by Leo Pinney, Finley Bridel, Benny Stoten, Sami Grimes, Gabriella Rhodes, Ryan Woodsend, Bethany Woodsend, George Wells and Max Rhodes.

In the juniors, there were golds for juniors Charlie Rhodes, Vic Macey, Ollie Grimes and silver and bronzes for Sierra Herring, Kacy Foster and Sean McIntyre.

Eunice Grimes collected bronze in veteran +40 years sparring.
