FOUR scullers from the Wallingford RC women’s squad brought four medals back from the Ghent International Regatta in Belgium.

Mary Wilson won on both days in the single while, in the same event, Louise Bowyer improved from third on Saturday to take the silver medal next day.

Clubmates Margy Pepper and Pippa Birch were fifth on both days in their double scull.

Meanwhile, Abingdon School and Radley College went head-to-head at Bedford Regatta, securing two wins apiece in the heats.

Radley won three finals.

Their second crew took the ‘open 2’ eights, their J15 eight won at novice level and the J16s took their age category.

Abingdon won the premier event ‘Open 1’ eights beating Oriel College, Oxford, by one foot.

Radley’s were missing a key member, Archie McChesney, who was in Munich, Germany, rowing in the Great Britain Junior team. He was fourth in a four on the Saturday but then won gold in the eight on the Sunday.
