EDDIE Pepperell will need to shoot under par in today’s second round to make the cut in the BMW International Open in Munich.

The 26-year-old, from Abingdon, who finished joint 16th in last week’s US Open, fired a level-par 72 on a first day of low scoring.

Pepperell lies joint 79th, eight shots behind the leader, Australian Wade Ormsby, scoring three birdies and three bogeys.

Starting at the tenth hole, he went out in one-under par after birdies at the 13th and 18th were offset by a bogey at the 16th.

There were two more bogeys on the back nine, before a birdie at his last brought him back to level.
