WALLINGFORD’S scullers scooped medals in three events at the Henley Masters Regatta, writes John Wiggins.

Andy Hull triumphed in the C single, while Charles Parry, partnered by with Quintin BC’s Tom Bishop, won in the H age group double scull.

Sean Morris, who lost his final in the H single scull, then combined with Parry and Bishop to win the H quad event.

Abingdon RC’s Dennis Engelke, along with City of Oxford rowers, was victorious in the D coxed fours.

At the third and final World Cup Regatta in Lucerne, Wallingford lightweights, Ellie Piggot and Gemma Hall took silver medals as part of the newly-formed British quad.

Former Abingdon school rowers also featured with Jamie Copus winning the B final in the lightweight double scull while Matt Rossiter is now firmly established in the senior men’s four which won GB’s only gold medal.

Abingdon RC juniors reached two finals in the Kingston regatta.

They finished third in the girls J14 quad final, but took first and second in the boys J15 double sculls with victory going to Joe McConnell and Dan Jose.
