FELIPE Massa is dreaming of a surprise podium at Monza tomorrow.
The 36-year-old Brazilian has been on the Formula 1 rostrum twice before with the Grove-based Williams team.
And although this year has been challenging – Massa has only scored 27 points – he cannot resist thinking of a top-three finish at the legendary Italian circuit.
He said: “Monza is a track I love. I managed to have two podiums for Williams in Monza and it would be really nice to have another one.”
Enstone-based Renault are on a high after Nico Hulkenberg equalled a season-best sixth-placed finish in last week’s Belgian Grand Prix.
The German is hoping he will deliver the goods again tomorrow.
He said: “It’s important now to keep the momentum going, rack up the points and close the gap to our competitors.”
Meanwhile, Banbury-based Haas’ Kevin Magnussen cannot wait to take to the circuit.
He said: “Monza is probably the best track for overtaking on the calendar.
“It’s always exciting racing there.”
