DIDCOT schoolteacher Kirsty Miller returned from the 20th ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships in North Korea with silver and bronze medals.
Competing in -45kg sparring (the lightest women’s category), Miller had a bye, before victories against Chinese and Russian opponents set up a televised final against home favourite Ri Un Jong, of the host country.
Although she lost the final, Miller, watch by her father Gary secured her best individual finish, before captaining the England ladies to a bronze medal in team power.
During the trip, they visited Taekwon-Do Museum, and the Patriotic Martyr’s Cemetery, where Taekwon-Do founder Choi Hong Hi is buried.
England won their bid to host the 21st World Championships in Liverpool in September 2019.
