LANCE Stroll received the perfect present when recording a second top-ten finish in the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday.
The 19-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on the day, finished sixth, with teammate Felipe Massa coming home 11th in his Grove-prepared Williams car.
“It was a great day, a great result and a great birthday present,” Stroll said.
“I think it was a very controlled race.
“I was really managing the tyres and the car was balanced very well.”
Massa was as high as sixth before a slow puncture picked up at the start forced him to pit on lap 3, re-joining in 16th.
“I’m really disappointed,” he said.
“The car was good, competitive and I’m sure it would have been a completely different situation if we didn’t have the puncture.”
