OLIVER Fletcher rise to show jumping stardom took another leap forward when he received a top award from Princess Anne.
The 14-year-old from Faringdon was presented with the British Showjumping prize at the Animal Health Trust awards dinner in London.
The son of former showjumping Olympian Graham Fletcher and his wife Tina – a London 2012 reserve rider – this year won a Children’s International Grand Prix in Wierden, riding Dahar.
Then representing Britain at the Children’s European Championships, he won both team gold and individual bronze medals.
Thanks to his remarkable consistency in over 1 metre 50 classes, Fletcher is the leading under 21 rider in the British Showjumping leagues at his tender age.
