ABINGDON Vale enjoyed great success at the county and regional qualifier at High Wycombe, where they were crowned the most successful club.

Vale amassed 79 medals over the weekend – 26 gold, 25 silver and 28 bronze.

This meant they finished ahead of much larger clubs around the region.

Leading the way were Lottie James, who collected an impressive six gold medals, and Thomas Wilsher, who took nine medals from ten races, including four golds.

In addition, Lauren James took home four golds.

Head coach, Amanda Ford, was thrilled with the team’s success.

She said: “There were some tremendous swims across all the age-groups.

“All the hard work in training and attention placed on skills and technique is coming to fruition and stands our swimmers in good stead for the upcoming Oxon and North Bucks County Championships.”
