KATIE Lane became Berinsfield Boxing Club’s third national champion this year after claiming a title at the English Junior Cadet Championships in Rotherham.
The 63kg fighter was in superb form to beat Abbie Lea from Woking in the semi-final, with the referee stopping the contest in the third round.
And it was the same outcome in the final, where Lane came out on top against last year’s champion Aimee Leigh Phillips, from Darlaston BC, Walsall.
Clubmate Danielle Blake also travelled to Yorkshire, where she was given a walkover to the 52kg final.
In a cracking bout, Sophie Sansam from Hull got a unanimous decision after three tough rounds.
