ABINGDON School celebrated two victories in high-class fields at the Wallingford Regatta.

More than 500 crews competed in near-perfect conditions on Dorney Lake.

And Abingdon School came out on top in their J16 eight and first eight in the junior category, where Radley finished second and third respectively.

Former Abingdon pupil and Olympian, Charles Cousins, won the Championship singles racing for his alumni club, Griffen.

Honorary Wallingford member Katie Greves, silver medalist at the Rio Olympics, returned to action in Headington School colours to win the Championship doubles with current pupil Mattea Wuethrich.

Radley College raced without Archie McChesney, who was part of the Great Britain junior eight crew which won gold on both days at the Munich Junior International Regatta.

Abingdon RC sent crews to both days of the Evesham Regatta.

Their success came over the longer course on Saturday, with their Masters squad dominating.

They claimed victory in the E age group eight, the F coxed four and double, plus the younger, C double.

There were also wins in the Band 2 fours and WJ15 double scull.

Eleanor Sykes enjoyed double success in the J16 single and WJ15 double on Saturday.
