EDDIE Pepperell is playing alongside European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn today and tomorrow.

The Abingdon golfer is looking to play his way into form at the Rocco Forte Sicilian Open, which marks the start of an important stage of the season.

Having won the Qatar Masters in February, Pepperell has missed the cut in his two European Tour events since.

But he did show encouraging signs last weekend, when representing England in the GolfSixes, where he and Matt Wallace reached the quarter-finals.

The 27-year-old will want to find his best form in time for the lucrative Rolex Series, which begins later this month with the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and the Italian Open.

A win in one of those would put the Frilford Heath golfer on the fringes of making Bjorn’s team for Paris in September.

Pepperell, who finished tied for 38th place in the event at Verdura Golf Club last year, will have the chance to impress when they tee off at 7.30am, along with another Dane, Thorbjorn Olesen.
