TIEGAN Trafford won both individual and team medals at the English compulsory championships in Stoke-on-Trent.

The nine-year-old, from Abingdon GC, placed in the top ten on every apparatus to claim a superb national bronze.

She then combined with clubmate, Olivia Kenny, who finished 33rd in the individual event after a recent ankle injury, to help the four-strong southern regional team take gold.

At level 4, Abingdon’s Corinna Gooderham, eight, handled the pressure well in her first national event to come 22nd.

Clubmate Rosie Greer passed her compulsory 2 grading and is now one step away from competing in the British Championships. She will take her final grading next year.

Meanwhile, two Abingdon youngsters won medals at the British tumbling championships in Telford.

Lily Titley took the silver medal, while there was a bronze for Benedict Furger.

Harry Winsey and Adam Dearman just missed out, in fourth and fifth respectively.
