Wallingford RC rowers excelled in the Henley Women’s Regatta, where they emerged as top club, with five winning crews.

Hannah Whelan, Freya Dale, Leanne Reeves and Alice Walker stormed from behind to beat Eton Excesior in the J16 quads after being behind only ten strokes from the line.

In the elite lightweight doubles final, Wallingford’s Ellie Piggott and Lottie Burgess beat clubmates Caroline Greves and Brianna Stubbs by three lengths.

Anna Reid raced Christina Heemskerk in the senior singles final and beat her by two lengths, despite being on crutches, having suffered a stress fracture of a femur.

Wallingford’s Clare Major and Minna Jones-Walter beat Marlow by three lengths in the senior lightweight doubles.

Finally, Greves, Stubbs, Burgess and Piggott joined up to beat University of London and win the elite lightweight quads.

Meanwhile, Charles Parry was second in the masters F singles final at Marlow Regatta, while there was a third place for Wallingford in the intermediate 1 coxless four and a second place for their intermediate 2 coxed four.
