Harry Basterfield won three gold medals as City of Oxford enjoyed a successful day at the Cardiff International Level 1 meet.

Basterfield swam superbly in the 13/14 age group, winning the 100m and 200m backstroke as well as the 400m freestyle.

He was also runner-up in the 200m freestyle, recording a national qualifying time (NQT) in the process.

Nathaniel Armstrong stormed to victory in the 200m breaststroke and was runner-up in the 200m IM.

Robert Youngs do Patricio continued his fine form with gold in the 11/12 years 100m breaststroke and silver in the 100m freestyle.

Elizabeth Oliver came second in the girls’ 14/15 age group 800m freestyle in a NQT.

She was also third in the 400m freestyle, gaining another national time.

Lucy Smith won silver in the 200m butterfly for the 14/15 age group.

City now have ten individual swimmers as well as the girls youth relay teams (4x100m and 4x200m freestyle) heading to the Sheffield for the ASA National Championships next month.

Amy Louise Harris picked up the swimmer-of-the-match award as Witney stormed to victory in the Wellingborough Faster Water Gala.
