The Lord Mayor of York, Coun Keith Hyman and the Sheriff of York, Coun Paul Firth visited the Mercedes car dealership at Clifton Moor to thank them for their support and sponsorship of the forthcoming Lord Mayor’s Charity Golf Day.

This annual charity event will take place at Pike Hills Golf Club on Friday, April 26.

In its sixth year, the competition sees golfers from across the city and across Yorkshire join together to play for the Lord Mayor’s Cup.

The Lord Mayor, who will be playing in the competition, said: “I am delighted to be able to take part in the Annual Lord Mayor’s Golf Competition, as Lord Mayor, although I don’t think I will be presenting myself with the cup!”

All funds raised will go to the Lord Mayor and Sheriff’s chosen charities, SSAFA Forces Help and Special Olympics City of York.

There are still a few tee-off times available for those wishing to take part. Entry for a team of four is £80 per team, and includes the round of golf and a coffee and bacon sandwich before teeing off.
