BENJI Buchel says he will be prepared for whatever Wycombe Wanderers throw at him this weekend.

Oxford United lost 2-1 at Adams Park in December, when both Chairboys goals came from free headers at set pieces.

Buchel played in the game and the goalkeeper vowed to be ready to deal with a visiting side who are likely to get the ball in the box at every opportunity.

He said: “I expect everything, so it doesn’t really matter what they’re going to do.

“We will prepare as well as possible and everything should be all right.”

Buchel has been targeted by some teams who have felt the Liechtenstein international had a weakness under the high ball.

But he has improved during the season and will be aiming to claim a third successive clean sheet in Sky Bet League Two for the first time tomorrow.

The 26-year-old: “You can’t come for everything because you’d be flying through the 18-yard box which isn’t good for the defenders.

“You just trust your instincts.”

The game at the Kassam Stadium could also decide which team finishes the season with the best defence in the division.

It is a record jointly held by the U’s and Wycombe, who have conceded 41 goals in their 45 games.

Barring a heavy defeat, United are on course to concede their fewest number of goals in a Football League campaign since 1995-96, when they let in just 39.
