LIAM Sercombe believes Oxford United’s squad fully deserved to celebrate after realising their ambition of achieving promotion.
Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers clinched second place in the Sky Bet League Two table.
And Sercombe, who made 55 starts for United, says their hard graft over the campaign has reaped rewards.
“From day one we knew what we wanted,” the midfielder said.
“To get it on the last day means everything to us. We are all buzzing
“We have performed all season and have always hit our targets.
“We knew what we had to do, and we did it.”
