JONJOE Kenny hailed Oxford United’s back four as a clean sheet on the final day of the season ensured they finished the season with Sky Bet League Two’s meanest defence.
The 3-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers confirmed promotion and saw the U’s finish with just 41 goals conceded from 46 games – their best in the Football League since 1996.
Right back Kenny said: “I think it showed that we have the best defensive record in the league, and if we defend, we know we have got people who can score goals.
“We are a great team – now we are in League One we can push on.
“It’s the best feeling I have had in football. I am over the moon and I think it was deserved.
“We got our opportunity and we took it.”
