OXFORD United will face Hull City in a friendly during their pre-season training camp in Portugal next month.

And while the second opponents are yet to be named, it has been confirmed they are another side who will play in the Sky Bet Championship next season.

Both matches will be played at the Estadio da Nora in Albufeira.

Hull were relegated from the Premier League last month, but should nonetheless provide stiff opposition for Michael Appleton's side when they meet on July 15.

United have not played the Tigers competitively since a 4-2 away defeat in 2004.

On top of the other game to be announced during the week in Portugal, it is understood the club are looking at adding a further two away matches between the home friendly against Birmingham City and the opening day of the season, on August 5.
