RON Atkinson will be the guest of honour at the first Manor Club meeting of the season.
The former Manchester United and Aston Villa manager is still the U’s record appearance holder, playing 562 games in a 12-year spell up to 1971.
He will attend the lunch at the Manor Club, where supporters aged 60 and over meet at Cowley Workers Social Club on Between Towns Road on the first Wednesday of each month.
Tickets for the event on September 6 cost £5, which includes the lunch.
With the event expected to be well-attended tickets can be booked in advance in person at the U’s ticket office or by calling 01865 337533.
United have also announced their shop in the Covered Market will now open on Saturdays from 10am-2pm, following an encouraging performance since opening in July.
