BOTH Oxford United and hosts Milton Keynes Dons are looking to capitalise on midweek momentum when they meet tomorrow.

The pair are in the same Checkatrade Trophy group and made winning starts on Tuesday.

While the U’s were cantering to a 6-2 success at Stevenage, the Dons beat Brighton & Hove Albion’s under 21s 2-0 at Stadium MK.

Robbie Neilson’s side have won just one of their opening four games in Sky Bet League One, but the Dons boss (pictured) picked a stronger side than planned in a bid to find some form to take into tomorrow’s game.

He said: “We have to get into the winning mentality but we haven’t done that this season.

“We used (Tuesday) as an opportunity to build some momentum going into our game on Saturday.

“We decided to go semi-strong and put a few of the first team out there to give them a bit more game time and thankfully it worked.

“We need to bring that confidence to our league play and hopefully tonight helped with that.”

He added: “Oxford got a really good result at Stevenage, so we know they’ll be coming here looking to get another win because they’ve made a good start to the season.”
