SIMON Eastwood reckons Oxford United need to be wary of being blown off course tomorrow.

While visitors Rotherham United will be looking for a reaction to their 3-1 midweek defeat at AFC Wimbledon, the goalkeeper also has one eye on the elements.

A yellow weather warning has been issued with Storm Brian set to produce gusts of up to 50mph during the game.

United’s No 1 is on his guard, but does feel playing regularly at the Kassam Stadium, with its open end, means Pep Clotet’s side are in a good position to adapt.

He said: “I did see the weather forecast and I know it’s not great.

“When it’s gusting you can kick it one way and it goes the other, or you can come for something, it swirls about and you can end up looking a bit silly.

“I think the lads may be more used to it than other teams because the Kassam is a very windy stadium even on the best of days.

“It might be very interesting.”

United beat Rotherham, then rock bottom of the Sky Bet Championship, in the Emirates FA Cup last season.

The Millers have made a strong start in their bid to bounce straight back, but did slump late on to lose at Wimbledon.

Eastwood admitted it was not a good result for United.

“They will be coming here with a lot to prove,” the 28-year-old said.

“There will definitely be a bit more pressure on them and they will want it a bit more to not get beat.

“But we want to be winning our home games, whoever we’re playing against.”

Eastwood has conceded just once in three games and the good news has kept coming at home.

The keeper revealed last weekend he and wife Emma were expecting a second child in June, this time conceived via IVF treatment.

He said: “For a lot of people it’s a taboo subject.

“I think it’s good if people start talking about it because there are families out there who struggle.

“It was after our first one she got a couple of problems, so that’s the road we had to start going down.

“People think it’s just football in your life, but there’s other things going on.”
