OXFORD United plan to make a late decision on James Henry’s fitness ahead of tonight’s clash with Accrington Stanley.

The midfielder was comfortably the U’s best player when he came off the bench in Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Portsmouth.

It should put him in the frame to start tonight, but U’s head coach Karl Robinson is waiting to see if he is fully fit.

He said: “We know how many goals and assists he brings to the team.

“He’s come off in a game and had another knock last week, so it’s been a little stop-start.

“But we know once he’s up and running he’s a threat.

“We’ll soon see how he is over the next 24 hours.”

Ricky Holmes (back) and Rob Hall (knee) are still missing.

Stanley have picked up four points from two games after losing at home on the opening day of the season.

But boss John Coleman has no intention of taking United, who have lost their three league games so far, lightly.

He told Stanley's website: “That’s always the difficult games at the start of the season, teams who are scrapping for their first win, they are probably the most difficult opponents to overcome.

“But we have done our homework and will continue to show the players what we need to but we know it will be tough.

“We know though that when we get our game going, we can be a match for anyone.

“I know Karl well, after the game you have a chat and a laugh but you are serious when the game is on.

“He has had a good managerial career so far at such a young age and I am sure he will be turning them around soon.”
