BLACKBURN Rovers manager Paul Lambert is expecting a tough time against Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow.

The Sky Bet Championship side hope to avoid becoming United’s second scalp in the Emirates FA Cup this season after Swansea City’s exit at the hands of Michael Appleton’s side in the third round.

Rovers have recorded only one victory in their last eight games – a 2-1 win over Sky Bet League Two side Newport in the last round.

Lambert, speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, is under no illusions about what awaits his side tomorrow.

He said: “You have to be ready for it.

“You have to be focused.

“It’s going to be a really hard game.

“They’re playing well, Oxford, to be fair to them.

“They’re doing well in their league and they had a terrific result against Swansea.

“There’s going to be a full house down there and a great atmosphere."

Lambert was also full of praise for the way United ousted Premier League Swansea last month and knows his side can ill-afford to not compete.

He said: “Our attitude has got to be right, we’ve got to get on the front foot and try and get into the next round.

“They’ll be up for it, their crowd will be up for it, and it’s up to us to be matching that.

“That’s what we’ve got to do.

“Hopefully we’ll get a foothold in our game and we’ll impose ourselves.”
