Nominee Yates - 4 wins 1 draw 1 defeat must get it over CW - bet they don't give it to the other nominee Martin Allen - as they like to share it around

Christ they need to go to specsavers that will make it even harder to change the manager if he wins this award.

By the way Wimbledon appointed Neil Ardley a few weeks ago thanks to the input of Dave Bassett.

Wimbledon sit below us in the league but have just beaten York twice and, like oldun, I will donate £100 to charity if they don't finish above us in the league. If we stick with Wilder they will probably be above us by Christmas.

If you or your team have any semblance of ability you will do well in this league. WE WON'T

£100 to registered charity if we go up (please!) - £25 to that charity if we lose in play offs. I still await the name of the charity - hope to be paying out - but sadly I expect not to be doing so

Last season the top three clubs lost 8,11 & 12 games after 46 games.

We have lost 9 after 17. So a max of 3 only 3 more defeats from the next 29 !

CW has done a decent enough job, and got us back in the football league (just about...remember that big points lead we threw away?)....but it looks like his days are numbered. The second half of last season, and the start of this season are relegation form without a shadow of a doubt.

It seems many of our 'supporters' play Football manager and do well, so think they can run a football team better than the Chris Wilder.....well I have news for you it is not that easy and you can't switch off without saving after a defeat and start again in the real world.

No we are not suggesting that we can run a team better than Mr Wilder - I struggled to run a cubs' side. we are judging him against what we expect of the manager of a professional team. He has not done at all brilliantly in 2012 - and he performed quite well at United prior to 2012. Of course you did not dream up the much appreciated Wembley trip (and victory) . Had we lost that one game then he would have been gone by now - and even you might not be bemoaning it . Mr A Campbell and Mr S Warne could take lessons from you in spin - amazing 'turn' . We are 17th - if we fail to make the third tier at the end of the season and he is still here then he will have failed . Where will we be on Sunday (much higher than 17th?)

The views of the Wolf are shared by most fans under twenty years old - and he will be under twenty trust me.

We beat York at Wembley and where are they now - above us like nearly everyone else.

Quite frankly I am utterly amazed that all of these posters except for the Wolf, call themselves Oxford United fans. I have been reading the comments from the main protagonists for many weeks, yet have held my tongue! I have never known so much moaning, criticism, venom and bitterness shown to the clubs manager, owner and players as what has been posted on here recently.

Where is your support, where is your backing of the club? Following the bad run we had in September, Wilder has been nominated for manager of the month for October, and what's wrong with that? The award is NOT BASED on what happenend in August, neither is it based on what happenend in September or for November so far. What it is BASED on are the results in October and they are:

Rochdale 2-0 Oxford Utd
Oxford Utd 5-0 Accrington
Port Vale 3-0 Oxford Utd

That is a good return considering we faced the biggest injury crisis I have known for years in that month, and that's why he got nominated. But you moaners can't see that can you? Rather than actually see what we did in that month with so many players out, you constantly criticise and run the club down from top to bottom. Why not actually support the club positively?

Because you have to look at the bigger picture and acknowledge the fact that the club is underperforming.

If the club does well I am happy if it doesn't I am not.

Read the Oxford Mails article again. It's not talking about the season so far is it? No, it's talking about Wilder being nominated for Octobers Manager of the Month award. But you have proved my point. There are a section of fans who will turn anything into their own 'little agenda' to run the club down.

Yep - 10 points out of 18 was not bad - but, manager of the month nominee? Narr. Obviously our results in Oct are all that matter with that award . Much more important to all of us - we are 17th (even having played one more at home than away) If we win on Saturday (please!!) we will not have had other than a poor 2012 (so far, yes - so far) . If Wilder takes United into the third tier next season then I will be full of praise. Three seasons in Div 4 - good enough for Arthur Turner . I hope that I am wrong but I don't expect to be giving away the £100 which I mentioned (if we go up this season) . Do you predict that United will be in the third tier next season?

Great October then (sorry) - with the rest of the season that spell allows us to be only a little behind those massive clubs - Accrington, Morecambe and Dagenham - but much further behind the likes of Burton, Fleetwood, Cheltenham and Torquay . Even if we had far more players unavailable than we have had United fans should be very unimpressed with our 17th place - am I wrong on that?

If Mr Wilder did better than other managers in October then he is entitled to be nominated. It just doesn't make him a good manager when put in context with the other 48 months he has been in charge.

I don't profess to know more about football than the panel of managers. where did I say I did.

The more people that have a go at the manager the better chance of him being sacked and the club improving.

I haven't been to a match for more than a year. Like many others I will not return until you know when. We will then get crowds of 8000 and more.

Why has he no been? No need to mock - it is not rocket science - United have not played well more than five times in 50 matches. Enough is enough - I and many others will join him soon. Moaners? Credit where credit is due - are you not discerning ? Blind support of a manager is not always a great idea - is it?

1 A crowd of under 5,000 with no atmosphere watching mediocrity. All being very nice to the manager of the month for October.

2 A buzzing stadium of 8,000 watching a winning team under fresh management genuinely challenging in this division.

I am not driving up from Bournemouth to watch option 1. If you don't want fans like me your going the right way about it

By the way Bournemouth changed their manager eight games ago and haven't lost since.

The change came about through local fans not accepting being 17th in the league,

What makes you think a change in manager would mean winning football and a buzzing stadium of 8000?

That never materialised when, Rix, Talbot, Wright, Diaz, Patterson, Jim Smith (2nd time), Kemp, Shotton, Horton, Atkins etc etc took over so why would changing our most successful manager for nearly 20 years mean winning or 8000 people turning up?

Maybe just maybe our fans SUPPORTING the manager and players and giving credit when credit is due would see winning football, or even more radical if the moaners kept their opinions to themselves and were not influencing others to avoid OUFC maybe we would still be getting the 8000 fans turning up and the ground would be buzzing, which in turn would see that winning football we are all so desperate for.

Oh and by the way, I am far older than 20 and have seen both wins at Wembley, so please dont try and discreddit my opinions my suggesting I am too young to have one. Thanks for the compliment tho.

If JBOWLING says he has not gone to a game for year because of Wilder, then he couldn't have attended many games at all in the last ten years as there have been some very poor managers during that period, as explained by the Wolf.

Also, I fail to see how not going to games 'to prove a point' actually helps the club financially ? Managers do not stay employed with the same club in the lower divisions. If they are good the club gets promoted if not they move to better clubs themselves. If they are bad they are sacked - we just don't seem to have the money to get rid of him.

Lets debate this again later in the season when we are stuck in this league for another year. Still it doesn't matter we can cheer the lads on - who wants promotion anyway.
