Oxford United’s Chris Wilder and Sean Rigg missed out on monthly awards for December, which were announced yesterday. Wilder was shortlisted for the manager-of-the-month award for the third time this season, but was beaten to the prize by Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett. Rigg lost out to Rochdale’s Ashley Grimes, who scored five goals during the month.
United were unbeaten in December, winning two and drawing two of their npower League Two matches, as well as recording two cup wins and a cup draw.
Burton won three league matches, but drew and lost their other. They also recorded one FA Cup victory.
