A DEDICATED Dudley Council worker has received national recognition for her work with the borough’s carers.

Christine Rowley, carers coordinator for the authority, has been highlighted for her work by Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care.

Omega, which supports carers, former carers and the bereaved in the West Midlands, awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to Christine for her commitment towards collaboration and information sharing, and the support she provides to family care-givers and organisations in Dudley.

Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Melvyn Mottram, presented the certificate to Christine at an event for family carers.

Christine, who was nominated by Omega facilitator Jane Hunt, has been instrumental in helping family carers get the information they need to be able to access a range of activities and services.

Cllr Steve Waltho, cabinet member for adult and community services, said: “We have an excellent Carer’s support network in place in Dudley and Christine plays a huge part in facilitating this.

"It is lovely to see her recognised and testament to her hard work. I would encourage carers looking for support in the Dudley borough to get in touch with Christine to find out more about the services available.”
