PETER Leven is back in football a year after leaving Oxford United.
The 30-year-old has agreed to join Jarrow Roofing BCA as a player-coach.
Leven made 67 appearances in two seasons for the U's before being released at the end of the 2012/13 season.
Injuries hampered his impact towards the end of the spell at the club, but after recovering from the knocks Leven told the Oxford Mail in June he was looking for a return, ideally to combine playing with coaching.
He said: “Football is a tough world and you just need to get on with it and I want to keep going as long as I can.
“I just want to stay in the game, I don’t want to disappear out of the back door.
“I’ve got a lot to offer, on and off the pitch.”
After moving to the north east he has now joined Jarrow, who play in the Northern League - the ninth tier of English football.
He could make his debut on Tuesday night, away to Dunston UTS.
