ALEX MacDonald has no plans to change his approach, despite admitting he was fortunate to escape a first red card last weekend.
The winger was substituted at half-time against Bury after getting away with a lunge while on a booking.
His replacement Callum O’Dowda went on to grab a late goal and earn Oxford United a 1-0 win which sends them into tomorrow’s clash with Plymouth Argyle in good spirits.
MacDonald acknowledged he could easily have been sent off.

He said: “When I was on a booking I made one challenge and I’d have said that probably was a yellow card, but for me the first one wasn’t.
“Ever since I came to the club I’ve tried to be infectious and it was a big game on my doorstep up north.
“I was really up for the game and maybe a little too up for it.
“I’m still learning and I was disappointed to come off, but of course I could understand it.”
MacDonald has extra incentive to perform against Plymouth, one of his former sides, but the Bury experience will not alter the way the 24-year-old plays.
“I’m wholehearted and try my best for the team,” he said.
“It doesn’t mean I’m going to change the way I play because I had one game where I should’ve been sent off.
“It won’t change the way I play if selected, I will still give my all.”
