OXFORD United are optimistic Johnny Mullins will recover from a dead leg in time to face Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
The centre half limped off late on in their 3-1 Emirates FA Cup replay win against Braintree Town on Tuesday night.
With Jake Wright ruled out for the clash against Sky Bet League Two's bottom side, United can ill-afford to lose another experienced centre half.
But head coach Michael Appleton was confident this morning Mullins, who has been captaining the side in Wright's absence, will be available.
He said: "Mulls is still a little bit sore today and a bit tight round the top of his leg, but I think he will be fine.
"We'll make sure we look after him."
