ROB Hall's return to the Oxford United side has been delayed after suffering a setback in his recovery.

The winger has been sidelined since November with a knee problem, but had returned to training.

However, a minor complication has postponed the 24-year-old's comeback.

U's caretaker manager Derek Fazackerley said: "There was a cyst at the top of the calf which burst and unfortunately the fluid leaked into his knee.

"The structure of the knee is sound, but it’s just one of those things, unfortunately it’s knocked him back a couple of weeks.

"It’s hard for him because he felt he was quite close, but we’ve just got to deal with it."

United are planning on setting up a friendly to give Ivo Pekalski, who has been out since August with a knee problem, the chance to build up his match fitness.

Fazackerley said: "Maybe in the next seven to ten days he’ll be ready to play a game at some level.

"We’ll try to organise something where maybe he and one or two of the others can get a game to get match fitness into them.

"Having played, he will come into everybody’s thoughts."
