OLI Johnson is set to face Oxford United in the opening month of the npower League Two season after signing for York City.

The 24-year-old was not offered a new contract by the U’s when his short-term deal expired last month.

But the former Norwich City winger has been snapped up by the promoted Minstermen for next season.

He will have an early opportunity to prove a point to United, with Chris Wilder’s side visiting Bootham Crescent on Saturday, September 1.

Johnson made 17 appearances for United after joining in January, scoring three goals – one of which came in the home win over Swindon.

He probly fell out with that **** CW and got told where to go!! oh well Potter should be back next year another high scoring player we have got, play offs at very best this season, no season ticket for me im peed of with our lack of ambition and Wilder talking sh*t

Good to see that there are some real OUFC supporters standing up for the club and its personnel. I believe that the club needs real stability and commitment at all levels. Also,£15m to purchase the stadium would help. The moaners provide nothing at all worth providing, and don't have the £15m either!

Is that figure of £15 m correct can't see for the life of me how its worth that or has the decimal point been missed out £1.5 m ??

as you will find chish the cost of building or redeveloping grounds is astranomical these days so dont be surprised how much it will cost to bring your county ground into the 21st century.no suggestion that you cant afford to do it and you can offset part of the cost by selling the big chicken shed you call the town end to a local farmer.good luck.

No denying we need some work on the ground - but lets get the team in a position when we can fill those new stands... and cover the costs.
To many of these new grounds are empty soulless and costing/costed the club too much.

agree that raising the teams profile has always got to be number one priority at any club.one of the reasons why so many of the smaller clubs are struggling is the mandatory introduction of all seater stadia which was not necessary at the lower levels.
