A man is to appear at the Old Bailey charged with the murder of a driver who was stabbed and crashed into a bus, a court ruled today.

Evan Edwards, 18, of Stockwell, south London, is to appear in custody at the Old Bailey on February 17, Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court ruled.

Edwards is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Babafemi Junaid on February 7.

Mr Junaid, of Peckham, south east London, died in hospital from a single stab wound to the heart.

He had been involved in a crash near Stockwell underground station in south London. Police officers who attended the scene found the stabbed Mr Junaid inside his car.

Detectives believe Mr Junaid was stabbed in Clapham Road, some 50 yards from the scene of the collision, before getting into his car and colliding with the bus.
