Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

A40 - Witney to Barnard Gate Prohibition of Vehicles and Temporary Speed Restriction to 20mph Date of Order: 28 May 2019 - Coming into force: 2 June 2019 This Order is being introduced because of road surface dressing which is anticipated to be completed on 8 June 2019. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding on the A40 both carriageways between the junction with A415 Ducklington and Bernard Gate/South Leigh crossroads, including their slip roads. A temporary speed reduction to 20mph will be in place throughout. Works undertaken Sunday 2 June; and Saturday 8 June followed by post-works sweeping overnight.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the A415 -A4095 -A44&A40

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (T6419/RAG)

STATION ROAD/MANOR ROAD/CARTERTON ROAD (BRIZE NORTON): PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING TABLE & BUILD-OUTS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & the Highways Act 1980 (section 90) proposes to construct the following traffic calming features within Brize Norton, this is in response to residential development within the area:

? Raised Table Calming Feature - will be 4m long & 3.7m wide, with additional ramps being 1m long and 75mm high (with approx. gradient of 1:12):



Manor Road - located approx. 45m* south of the roundabout junction with Burford Road, Elm Grove & Minster Road.



? Kerbed build-out (approx. 9m long by 2 wide):



Manor Road -the build-out will be on the east side of the carriageway, approx. 45m* south of the roundabout junction with Burford Road, Elm Grove & Minster Road. Priority will be given to traffic travelling northwards out of the village



? Kerbed build-outs (approx. 6m long by 1.5m wide):



Carterton Road - the build-out will be on the north side of the carriageway approx. 45 metres* south-west of its junction with the northern access to the Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron base. Priority will be given to traffic travelling south-westwards out of the village.



Station Road - the build-out will be on the west side of the carriageway approx. 115 metres* south of its junction with the access to Upper Haddon Farmhouse. Priority will be given to traffic travelling southwards out of the village.



? All dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature.

(SHILTON PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, for road safety reasons is to extend the 30mph speed limit on The Hill westwards into Hen-n-Chick Lane past the Alvescot turn, and thereafter introduce a 40mph seed limit for the next 160 metres, and also for 40 metres into the turn towards Cotswold Stoneyard. The Alvescot road southwards for 165 meters will also be subject of 30mph. Each of these sections of road are currently unrestricted (60mph).

The current Oxfordshire County Council (Shilton Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2001 will be revoked/replaced.
