(BLENHEIM HALF MARATHON) - (SPECIAL EVENT) ORDER 2019 NOTICE is hereby given that on 23 September Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This order is being introduced to facilitate the holding of the BHF Blenheim Half Marathon in Blenheim Park and on roads in the Parish of Combe, which is promoted by the British Heart Foundation, Greater London House, 180 Hampstead Road, London NW1 7AW. The event takes place on Sunday 29 September and the traffic measures will have the following effects:
Akeman Street - from Park Road to Woodstock Road
a) No motor vehicles (except for access)

b) No waiting, loading or unloading

9.30am to 2pm 12.01am to 2pm
Boltons Lane, Horns Lane (Robin Hill)
No waiting, loading or unloading
12.01am to 2pm
East End (east of Park Road)
No motor vehicles (except for access)
9.30am to 2pm
Park Road
a) Full road closure from Combe Lodge Gate at Blenheim Palace towards Combe village green (Church Walk junction).

b) No waiting, loading or unloading

9.30am to 2pm 12.01am to 2pm
Woodstock Road - from Akeman Street to Ditchley Gate
a) No motor vehicles
c) No waiting, loading or unloading

Marshalls will be used to assist traffic, runners and spectators, specifically at road junctions and points where footpaths and roads are crossed. To allow for displaced parking in Combe during the event, there will be a temporary car park at Combe village playing field, Park Road. The alternative access routes are as follows: to Combe from the north - via B4437, Stonesfield Riding, The Ridings, Pond Hill, Longore, Greenfield Rd, Woodstock Rd, Combe Rd, Chatterpie Lane, West End and vice versa; to Combe from the south - via Swan Lane, Horns Lane (Robin Hill), West End and vice versa.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for event support vehicles. There will be limited access to premises. Sections of footpaths within Blenheim Estate will be variously diverted and reopened as runners pass.
Documents giving detailed particulars of the order are available for public inspection at County Hall, New Road, Oxford OX1 1ND from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and at Woodstock Library, Hensington Road, Woodstock OX20 1JQ from 1pm - 7pm on Mondays and Fridays, from 9.30am - 1pm on Tuesdays, from 9.30am - 5pm on Wednesdays and from 9.30am - 1pm on Saturdays; closed Thursdays.
