(CITY OF OXFORD AND NORTH HINKSEY) (BUS LANES, CYCLE LANES AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (VARIATION NO.**) ORDER 20**. 3. (CITY OF OXFORD) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20** NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The orders will further amend The Oxfordshire County Council (West Oxford and Osney Mead) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Consolidation Order 2009; the Oxfordshire County Council (City of Oxford and North Hinksey) (Bus Lanes, Cycle Lanes and Traffic Management) Order 2006; and the Oxfordshire County Council (City of Oxford) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2018. Plans are being developed for a major improvement scheme to the Botley Road & West Way from Oxford to Botley (North Hinksey). The effect of order 1 is as follows:

a) Botley Road the three parking laybys on the south side of the Botley Road between Earl Street and Alexandra Road (1 hour waiting Mondays to Saturdays 8am to 6.30pm) will be removed and no waiting at any time will apply.



b) Alexandra Road, Duke Street, Earl Street, Harley Road, Oatlands Road and Riverside Road and Oatlands Road: - Parking places limiting waiting to 1 hour (no return within one hour) between 8.00am and 6.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays (permit holders not exempted from time limit), with parking by permit holders only outside this time will be created; parking places in Duke Street (1), Earl Street (1), Harley Road (1), Oatlands Road (2), and Riverside Road (2) will replace permit holder only parking places; the (2) parking places in Alexandra Road will replace a length of no waiting between 8.00am and 6.30mp Monday to Saturday restriction.



The effect of order 2 is as follows:

a) To remove the short length of bus lane on Botley Road east of Bridge Street,



b) To introduce new westbound bus lanes on Botley Road,



c) To extend the eastbound bus lane on West Way to its junction with Eynsham Road,



d) To create short lengths of bus lane on Eynsham Road and Cumnor Hill on their approaches to



West Way.

The effect of order 3 is to extend the 20mph limit on the Botley Road westwards by 490 metres to just west of its junction with Binsey Lane.

BOTLEY ROAD & WEST WAY (OXFORD & NORTH HINKSEY) PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN & CYCLE CROSSINGS, TRAFFIC CALMING AND CYCLE TRACKS & LANES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that under the Highways Act 1980 and Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Oxfordshire County Council proposes to provide the following new or amended traffic features as part of wider traffic management measures in the Botley and North Hinksey areas of Oxford: A. New and amended signalled crossings:

B. Side Road Entry Treatments*:

At the following side roads at their junctions with Botley Road and West Way:

Access to retail site on south side of Botley Road between Lamarsh Road and Earl Street

Access on south side of West Way by Field House

*These treatments will comprise flat top road humps across the above side roads with a nominal height of 75mm and 1:12 ramp gradient

C. New and improved provision for pedal cyclists:



Improved and new cycle lanes and tracks will be provided on both sides of Botley Road and West Way between the Eynsham Road junction and the Roger Dudman Way junction; these will include new and amended mandatory cycle lanes, the conversion of parts of some existing footways to shared use footway/cycle track and the widening of existing cycle lanes and track. Existing cycle parking by Duke Street is also to be repositioned.

D. Bus Stop changes on Botley Road:



Westbound stop east of North Hinksey Lane

Relocated approx. 15m to west

Westbound stop west of retail between Lamarsh Road and Minns Business Park

Relocated approx. 18m to east

Eastbound stop opposite Riverside Road by Waitrose Store

Bus stop to be removed

Eastbound stop by opposite bridge Street

Relocated approx. 70m to west
