COMMONS ACT 2006: SECTION 38 APPLICATION TO CARRY OUT RESTRICTED WORKS ON COMMON LAND at COW LANE, WANTAGE, OXFORDSHIRE COMMONS REGISTER ENTRY CL137: COW LANE, WANTAGE, OXFORDSHIRE
Gleeson Strategic Land Limited and Gallagher Estates Limited have applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs ("Defra") for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on part of the Common Land known as Cow Lane, Grove, Wantage. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State.
The proposed works are the provision of working room at the northern and southern extremities of proposed works occasioned by the proposed crossing of Cow Lane by the proposed Grove Northern Link Road. The proposed crossing is the subject of a separate application to the Secretary of State to deregister part of the common land known as Cow Lane and to replace it with nearby replacement land.
Cow Lane is also a byway open to all traffic and it will continue to be both common land and byway either side of the proposed crossing of Grove Northern Link Road after the Link Road is constructed.
A copy of the application form and accompanying documents showing the proposed works can be inspected at Grove Post Office, 1 Savile Way, Grove, Wantage, 0X12 OPT during normal opening hours until 30th January 2020.
