NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND

STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

The Oxfordshire County Council, Chesterton Footpath No. 11 (part), Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2019

On 27th January 2020, the Oxfordshire County Council confirmed the above Order, made on 4th November 2019, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by diverting 616m of Chesterton FP 11 running from OS Grid Reference SP 5458 2220 north-westwards past Chesterton Fields Farm to SP 5418 2266 to a line running for 841m around the farm from SP 5458 2220 north-north-eastwards to SP 5463 2233 then north-north-westwards and then overall westwards to SP 5418 2266 where it re-joins the existing path as shown on the Order map. The Order came into force on the date of confirmation but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (the Act), as amended, and/or the powers of section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (WCA) or on the ground that any requirement of either Act or of any regulation made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act and as applied by s53A(7) WCA, within six weeks from 13th February 2020 make an application to the High Court.
