Notice ID: WAT1754707

Notice effective from
18th June 2020 to 18th July 2020

LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) THE WALTHAM FOREST (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) (CANN HALL ROAD) ORDER 2020 (TT15(20))

1. The Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that It intends on making an Order because of a likelihood of danger to the public.

2. The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed or, where applicable, covered:

(a) to suspend the Zone 'CHE' Permit holders parking spaces and restrict vehicles from waiting for any purpose 'at any time' in the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice;

(b) to restrict vehicles from stopping, waiting or loading for any purpose 'at any time' ('school keep clear' restrictions) in the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice; and

(c) to restrict vehicles from waiting for any purpose 'at any time' in Cann Hall Road E11, the south-east side, between a point 4 metres southwest of the common boundary of Nos. 139 and 141 Cann Hall Road and a point 2.9 metres north-east of that common boundary (on the carriageway in front of an existing disabled persons parking place located on the footway).

3. Vehicles waiting, loading, stopping or parking in disregard of this Order would be removed.

4. The Order would come into operation on 25th June 2020 and will be valid for 18 months, or until the Council deem that the temporary Order is no longer required, whichever is the sooner.

5. The bans would only apply at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing and covering of the appropriate traffic signs. They are necessary as a result of an increase in pedestrian and cyclist traffic and movement on the roads affected. This is as a result of the Council's response to the Public Health restrictions on movement, exercise and social distancing in connection to the Covid 19 pandemic.

6. In so far as any provision imposed by the Order conflicts or is inconsistent with any provision of any Order made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest the provisions of the intended Order shall prevail only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed in relation to the measures set out in this Order.
