COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2020
COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND AND NEW RIGHTS AT MERIDIAN WATER
1 Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Enfield ('the Acquiring Authority') has made the London Borough of Enfield (Meridian Water Strategic Infrastructure Works) Compulsory Purchase Order 2020 under section 226 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and section 13 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. It is about to submit this Order to The Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government for confirmation, and if confirmed, the Order will authorise the London Borough of Enfield to purchase compulsorily the land and new rights described below for the purpose of facilitating the development, redevelopment or improvement through the undertaking of strategic infrastructure works which is likely to contribute to the achievement of the promotion or improvement of the economic, social or environmental well-being of the Acquiring Authority's area.

2 A copy of the Order and of the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at the following venues:

i. Notice board outside main entrance to Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield EN1 3XA (please note the Order schedule is not available to view at this location);

ii. Edmonton Green Library, 36-44 South Mall, Edmonton Green, London, N9 OTN; and

3 Any objection to the Order must be made in writing to The Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government, National Planning Casework Unit, 5 St Philips Place, Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 2PW before 30th September 2020 and should state the title of the Order, the grounds of objection and the objector's address and interests in the land.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND THE NEW RIGHTS
The land and buildings located within the area known as Meridian Water comprising land to the east of the West Anglia Mainline railway bounded by the North Circular to the north, Leeside Road in the south and the Lee Navigation to the east (which includes the IKEA store, the Tesco store, Orbital Business Park), industrial land to the east of the Lee Navigation as well as green belt land between Harbet Road and the River Lee.
The new rights to be purchased compulsorily over land described above which will comprise rights of access in order to construct the infrastructure works; construction of temporary roads; right to construct and access construction compounds; rights to construct/ improve/maintain parts of rivers and canals and bridges over them; rights to discharge into watercourses; and crane oversailing.
